The Lost Island DX Society (LIDS) is a figmental club exclusively for Big Gun DXers and Contesters. No Little Guns or Squirt Pistols need apply. Needless to say, QRPers will be ignored on sight. Membership is by self-acclamation with the requisite qualifications. If you have to ask if you're a Big Gun - you're not. At least not a Big Enough Gun to be a LIDS. Just because something is fictitious doesn't mean it’s not real.
Where is Lost Island? Like DX, Lost Island is. Lost Island should not be confused with the Lost Colony, i.e. one of the first really unsuccessful DXpeditons, or with the confusing TV show Lost which takes place on an island, sometimes. Geographically, Lost Island is in the neighborhood of Atlantis, and not that fancy casino resort in the Bahamas.
LIDS Meetings. The Lost Island DX Society does not have regularly scheduled meetings, but informal meetings occur on the air, usually during major DXpeditions and contests. Just listen for a few moments and you're sure to hear one of our members.
